Review: Bizzy Bone’s “Carbon Monoxide”

Last year’s beef between Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s Layzie Bone, Migos, and 21Savage created new buzz to the battle between old-school and new-school Hip-Hop. As a result of this beef, we got Layzie Bone’s response in the form of his single, “Let Me Go Migo” and the album, “Annihilation.” Joining the fray after going on Instagram live with a shotgun, is Bizzy Bone’s response to the new-school’s disrespectful attitude with “Carbon Monoxide.”

From the beginning, Bizzy Bone refuses to let Migos off the hook for their comments. Simply put, you disrespect a legend, then prepare to be disrespected. The entire album showcases how Bizzy effectively used the beef as motivation for this project. And despite the references to the new-school, Bizzy shows that age has no effect to his talent and flow. This is Bizzy Bone being raw, real, as he always has been. The comparisons to “Heaven’z Movie” and “The Gift” diminishes the overall experience when listening to “Carbon Monoxide” from beginning to end. This album can stand on its own as a quality production masterpiece.

This is the Bizzy that everyone has been searching for. We all knew he had it. He just had to get in his right state of mind.
